It’s so easy to find information these days that it’s not necessary to memorize a lot of useless stuff.  The new skills that are becoming more important are; knowing how to search for information and identify if the source is reliable.  So telling your kids to “just google it” is actually a valuable lesson.
Or maybe just an excuse behind which to hide your ignorance.
